Dennis John Peyton was born and raised in Wisconsin, where he received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin. He earned a graduate degree in Mexican Corporate and Economic law from La Universidad Panamericana and his law degree from La Universidad Tecnológica de México, both in Mexico City. He is currently licensed to practice law in Mexico and is in good standing, and is an associate member of the American Bar Association. Mr. Peyton lived and worked in Mexico City with a Mexican law firm throughout the 1980's, and spent several years focused on large multinational joint ventures, real estate development, and foreign investment in Mexico, as well as Mexican commercial, corporate and business law. This experience has allowed him to gain extensive knowledge and expertise in representing Americans in Mexico. |

During the 1990’s and into the 2000’s Mr. Peyton has been chief counsel or several high profile cases involving Americans in Mexico, including NAFTA filings. He also is considered a pioneer as an advocate for American interests in Mexican real estate transactions, having been consulted by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, L.A. Times, Houston Chronicle, Wichita Eagle, The Arizona Daily Star, Milwaukee Journal and was influential mentor in the training of other lawyers who have since continued on their own. Mr. Peyton is the co-author of The Executive's Guide to Doing Business in Mexico and the book,How to Buy Real Estate in Mexico which in now in its third edition. He is the past legal editor of The Baja Sun, a Baja California's English language newspaper, and Mexico Business Law Alert: Published by Lee. Smith Publishers, Nashville, TN; a nationally distributed newsletter on Mexican legal issues. Mr. Peyton has been a speaker at numerous events sponsored by the Bar Associations in California, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois as well as on various radio and television appearances as an expert on Mexican law.
